Big Red Weekend Recap:
It is the final recap of the winter sports season as the season officially came to an end over the weekend at the District wrestling tournament. Thomas Winegardner, Ben Trimmer, and Isaiah Miller all competed at the district meet representing the Big Red. On Friday, Thomas and Isaiah both lost tough 1st round matches to fall into the consolation bracket. Thomas then lost a 2nd tough match to see his season come to an end while Isaiah picked up a win to advance to Saturday. Ben won his first round match before losing his quarterfinal match and falling into the consolation bracket. On Saturday, Isaiah lost his next match to see his season come to an end. Ben kept his season alive by winning his next two matches and advancing to the consolation semi-final where he would lose coming up one win short of making it to state. He would go onto placing 6th in his weight class and finishes his stellar career as a district placer. Congratulations to all of our Big Red wrestlers and coaches on a great season!

Big Red Recap:
The Big Red Boys Basketball team traveled to Galion on Thursday night for a district tournament matchup with Tiffin Calvert. The Big Red and Senecas gave everyone the close, nip and tuck, back and forth game that was expected. Calvert would hold a small 13-11 advantage after the 1st quarter and would extend that lead out to 24-16 at the half with a late 2nd quarter scoring run. Calvert would extend that lead out to 11 early in the 3rd quarter before the Big Red started to chip away and start the comeback as they would cut the deficit to 35-30 after 3 quarters. Calvert would keep the one or two possession lead for most of the 4th quarter before the Big Red would get to within one point at 40-39 with under 2 minutes to play. The teams would trade a few key baskets and foul shots and with the score at 45-42 the Big Red forced a key turnover and had a chance to tie the game but the Seneca's came up with a key stop and would seal the game at the free throw line for the 48-42 win. The Big Red's season comes to an end with a 15-9 overall record.
Congratulations to our Big Red players and coaches on a great season!
