District Baseball and Regional Track Day!
The final day of the school year is here and it's also a big day for Big Red spring sports as the baseball team will be in district tournament action while our two regional track qualifiers will be competing at the regional meet! Below is details and information for each.
District Baseball:
The Big Red will take on Mohawk in Galion at Heise Park in the district semi finals with first pitch scheduled for 4:30pm. It will be the 2nd of two games with Lucas and South Central playing before. Admission will be charged and tickets can be purchased online ahead of time via www.ohsaa.org/tickets or with cash at the gate. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. With a win today over Mohawk the Big Red would advance to the district championship game on Saturday at 2pm at Elida HS.
Regional Track:
Isaiah Miller and Izaya Reynolds will compete in the Division 5 regional meet at Fostoria today with running events beginning at 5:30pm. Both will compete in the prelims of their events with hopes of advancing to the finals on Saturday. Tickets can also be purchased online ahead of time or with cash at the gate. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for students. Fostoria will also be charging a $5 per car parking fee. Fostoria's track is located at their football stadium and is NOT on school grounds. The address to the stadium is 530 Stadium Dr. Fostoria, Ohio 44830.

Congratulations to Cullen Mason, Landen Laser, Weston Kamann, David Milligan, Caine Chambers, Karson Flickinger, and Lex Grose (not pictured) for reaching the 1000 pound club! These young men totaled over 1000 pounds lifted in the bench press, squat, clean, and deadlift. What an accomplishment!

Any student grades 6-11 interested in running cross country this fall that missed the signup on Tuesday can stop in Mr. Anderson's classroom to grab the summer conditioning schedule and information on the upcoming season. Parents and athletes can also go to the "Plymouth Cross Country and Track" Facebook page to get all of the same information.

Thank you to everyone that supported the 2nd Annual Shave-A-Thon. This year we had students and staff shave their heads, put braids in their hair, and some of our staff got a pie in the face. With everyone's generosity we were able to donate $1000 to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.

Athletes are asked to dress appropriately for an awards program. We look forward to celebrating our spring athletes and teams on Wednesday night.

Big Red Weekend Recap:
The Big Red baseball and track and field teams were in postseason action over the weekend and managed schedule changes to avoid the rainy weather. On Friday, the baseball team hosted Crestline in the Sectional finals and cruised to a sectional championship with a 10-0 win over the Bulldogs in 6 innings. The Big Red used a dominant pitching performance from Lincoln Distl and timely hitting from all parts of the lineup to earn the win and advance to the district tournament this week. The win improves them to 15-9 overall on the season and they will take on Mohawk in the district semi finals on Thursday at 4:30pm at Galion.
On Thursday evening and Saturday morning, the track and field teams competed at Colonel Crawford High School in the District Championship. Advancing to this week's Regional Championship at Fostoria includes both Izaya Reynolds in the 200m Dash and 400m Dash along with Isaiah Miller in the 300m Hurdles. The boys team finished in 7th place with the girls team finishing in 14th place.

Summer ABC Reading Adventure- Many of our students have made some great growth this year with their reading and we want to encourage and keep that positivity going through the summer. Each student is bringing home a letter and a calendar page that has some fun activities as possible summer reading suggestions. The goal would be to have fun with this challenge and enjoy reading throughout the summer. Students that complete at least half of each calendar and turn it in when school starts next fall will receive a prize for their participation. Many of our students will bring home fluency passages that can be read throughout the summer to maintain that level of reading. Don’t forget to sign up for the summer reading program. Students that are going into third, fourth and fifth grade will have access to AR still throughout the summer.

Congratulations to Izaya and Isaiah on qualifying for the Division 5 Regional track meet next week! Reynolds is the district champion in the 400 m dash and took 3rd in the 200 m dash while Miller took 3rd in the 300 m hurdles to advance to Regionals!
