Attention students interested in planning on participating in track and field this spring:

Starting Wednesday, 1/14/26, High School students that are interested in going out for the team should stop by Mr. Anderson's Classroom and pick up a Google Classroom code. If you are not in a winter sport, you can pick up a calendar for January and February.

Big Red Recap:

The MS boys basketball teams traveled to South Central on Monday night and came home with a split with the Trojans as the 7th grade lost a tough game by a score of 49-25 while the 8th grade picked up a 56-35 win over the Trojans. Both teams will be back in action on Thursday when they host Mapleton.

The freshman boys were also in action as they traveled to Mapleton and lost to the Mounties. They will be right back in action on Wednesday at Monroeville.

Athletic News! We will be having military appreciation night on Saturday, January 17th, during the boys basketball game against South Central.

Athletic News! Big Red Weekend Recap: Another winter sports weekend has come and gone and it started off with a busy Friday night here at PHS as our Big Red boys basketball teams hosted St. Paul in a tripleheader. The freshman took a loss to the Flyers to open up the evening before the JV picked up a nice win to even things out. The varsity Big Red would come out and jump out to a quick 5-0 lead before the Flyers caught fire from behind the 3 point arc and would take an early lead that they would hold throughout the first half and into halftime. The Big Red would see a deficit as big as 13 points early in the 3rd quarter before they turned the momentum in their favor and would have another big half. They came all the way back to take the lead late in the 3rd quarter and would never relinquish it on their way to a 63-52 win over the Flyers. With the win the Big Red keep their lead in the conference as they improve to 8-2 overall and 6-0 in the league. They will be back in action with two big league games this week at Western Reserve on Thursday and home with South Central on Saturday. On Saturday, the MS basketball teams were all in action against New London as the girls hosted two games at home while the boys traveled to New London. The boys came home with a split as the 7th grade lost 34-22 while the 8th grade earned a big win by a score of 47-19. The girls lost two tough games to the Wildcats at home. The boys will be back in action tonight at South Central while the girls will travel to Mapleton on Tuesday. The MS wrestling team was also in action on Saturday at South Central's Invite and competed hard. They will be back in action on Saturday this weekend at New London's Randy Harner Invite.

Athletic News! Big Red Recap: The MS boys basketball teams returned to action on Thursday night after a long break by hosting Monroeville. They came away with a split with the Eagles as the 7th grade won an exciting game in OT by a score of 26-23 before the 8th grade lost 66-38. Both teams will be right back in action tomorrow morning at New London. The varsity girls were also in action at home hosting South Central in a varsity only contest. It was another nip and tuck battle all night between the Lady Big Red and Trojans as the Lady Big Red would avenge their season opening loss to the Trojans with a 35-31 win. The Lady Big Red grabbed an early lead and would onto a small lead for most of the game. The Trojans tied the game for the 1st time at 30-30 with a basket late in the game before the Big Red would make some timely plays down the stretch to seal the win. They improve to 2-11 overall and 1-7 in league play and will be off until next Wednesday when they travel to Lucas.

Big Red Recap:

The Big Red boys basketball teams were the only teams in action on Wednesday night as they traveled to Bucyrus for a non-league matchup with the Redmen. It was all Big Red all night in both games as the JV and Varsity both cruised to wins. The varsity used a quick start to jump out to a 24-13 lead after the 1st quarter and would extend that to 36-21 at the half. They would then blow it wide open in the 3rd quarter and run away to a 72-39 win behind a 35 point performance from Jarrett Burrer. They improve to 7-2 overall on the season and will be back in action tomorrow night at home with St. Paul.
