Athletic News! This past weekend, spring volleyball came to an end. Over 90 girls filled the gym and worked on learning and improving their volleyball skills. The growth over the past month has been so much fun to watch and be a part of. Thank you to all the coaches for taking time out of your busy schedules to pour into these girls. 🏐

Athletic News! Big Red Weekend Recap: Rain and mother nature definitely had its impact on this weekend's athletic events but we were able to get some baseball and softball games in on Friday night before the heavy rain hit. The varsity baseball team traveled to Willard to take on the Flashes and battled them in a low scoring pitchers duel before the Flashes plated a few late runs to pull away for the 5-1 win over the Big Red. The Big Red drop to 2-1 overall on the early season and are scheduled to open up conference play today at home against South Central. The varsity softball team hosted Colonel Crawford and could not get anything going with the bats falling to the Eagles by a 11-0 final score as they drop to 1-2 on the season. They are also scheduled to open up league play today at home with South Central. The JV softball team picked up their first win of the season with a 28-23 marathon win over Colonel Crawford. They are scheduled to travel to Clear Fork today.

PHS News! Student Spotlight Lance Rowe is this week’s spotlight student in Advanced PE/Weightlifting. Lance works hard every day and has seen the results of his hard work. He has improved his numbers in every exercise including bench press, squat, deadlift, and power clean. He is prepared for every class, finishes his workouts, has a great attitude, and is a pleasure to have in class. Great job and keep up the great work Lance! 🤩

Athletic News! We have made the decision to cancel and postpone tomorrow's track and field invite here at PHS due to the forecast of heavy rain overnight tonight and all day tomorrow. We plan to reschedule the meet for later in the season most likely during the week of 4/28. We will announce the exact date and time when that is decided upon.

Athletic News! The cancelled varsity baseball game vs Colonel Crawford has been rescheduled for next Thursday 4/10 at home with a 5pm start time.

Athletic News! Tomorrow's Varsity and JV softball games at home against Black River have been cancelled due the weather and forecasted heavy rain. It does not appear that these games will be able to be rescheduled. Both teams are still scheduled to play Colonel Crawford tonight at this time. Varsity at home and JV at Crawford. First pitches at 5pm.

Athletic News! Big Red Recap: The JV softball team returned to action on Thursday night by hosting Hillsdale and lost a tough game to the Falcons by a 12-0 final score. They are scheduled to be right back in action tonight at Colonel Crawford. The MS track and field teams were also in action hosting their 2nd tri meet of the week this time with Mapleton and Mansfield Christian. The boys took 2nd as a team while the girls took 3rd. Individually for the boys, Jax Tackett was the highest point getter with a 1st place finish in the shot put and a 3rd place finish in the discus. Weston Smith also added a 1st place finish in the 400 m dash and a 4th place finish in the 100 m dash while Carson Roberts and Carter Watkins also notched top finishes in the 200 m hurdles and 110 m hurdles. Hemi Hicks also scored in two events with a 2nd place finish in the shot put and a 4th place finish in the 110 m hurdles. Ki Harris took 2nd in the high jump followed right behind by Liam Means in 3rd place. RJ Soblensky notched two 3rd place finishes in both the 200 m hurdles and the long jump while Simon Worthington took 4th in the 200 m hurdles. The boys 4x100 and 4x200 both took 1st place while the 4x400 took 2nd all earning team points for the Big Red. For the girls, Aubree Stephens took 2nd place in the 100 m dash while Ari Miller took 4th in the shot put and Koree Conley took 4th in the 100 m hurdles. The girls 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams both took 2nd place as well to round out the scoring for the Big Red. Both teams will be back in action on Monday at Mapleton's MS invite.

Athletic News! JV Softball will now travel to Clear Fork on Monday 4/7 instead of Marion Elgin. Elgin has cancelled on us due to low numbers. Game time will be 5pm at Clear Fork.

Athletic News! Today's varsity baseball game at home against Colonel Crawford has been cancelled due to Crawford making up a league game today. No makeup date at this time. Big Red will next be in action tomorrow night at Willard.

Big Red Family! Attention Parents! Please see the attached letter about Erin's Law. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Montgomery. Erin’s Law, House Bill 321, was signed by Governor Mike DeWine in February 2023. This law requires public schools to teach age-appropriate sexual abuse and violence preventions to all K-12 students. This year, we have chosen to implement a program called Fight Child Abuse. The program’s main goal is to educate children about what to do if they experience abusive behavior, educate them about safe and unsafe touches, and encourage them to go to a parent or another trusted adult for help. Athletic News! Big Red Recap: Both of the varsity baseball and softball teams were able to get non-league games in on Wednesday night hosting Crestline. The softball team picked up their first win of the season and used offense to do it as they plated 18 runs on the night taking down the Bulldogs by a final score of 18-11 to improve to 1-1 on the season. They are scheduled to be back in action tomorrow night hosting Colonel Crawford. The baseball game was a pitcher's dual as the Big Red earned a 2-0 shutout win over the Bulldogs. Lincoln Distl went 6 strong shutout innings earning the win while Keagan Beverly came in and pitched the 7th inning and earned the save for the Big Red as they improve to 2-0 on the early season. As of now they will next be in action tomorrow night traveling to Willard.
